TOP 10 REASONS TO GET YOUR SKIS TUNED

(placeholder)

1. Makes turning easier -

Ski and snowboards that have not been tuned have dry bases that don't slide evenly on the snow. Getting some fresh wax on your boards will help you smoothly glide through a turn and prevent your skis from sticking which can throw you off balance.

2. Makes skiing powder easier -

Freshly waxed skis float in powder better making skiing fresh snow easier. Unwaxed skis drag through the snow making it harder to keep your balance which will wear your legs out quicker.

3. Extends the life of your skis -

Getting your skis tuned up even once a year helps prevent the bases from becoming so dry that they seperate from the core of the ski.

4. Helps hold an edge on hard pack snow -

Having sharp edges will help you carve turns on hard pack and icy trails. It will also help you slow down quicker on steeper slopes.

5. Makes pushing through lift lines easier -

A hot wax will make pushing yourself across flat areas near ski lodges and in lift lines easier on your shoulders and back.

6. Helps you transition from one snow type to another -

Skiing from a groomer to fresh powder can slow you down and cause you to crash. If your bases are really dry skiing into new snow can slow you down so much you flip over the front of your skis. Having fresh wax and clean bases will make transitioning into new snow smoother.

7. Lowers chance of blowing out an edge -

When you have a core shot on the edge of your ski it is easy to catch it on a rock and pull the whole edge out. Some blown edges can not be repaired and if they are the ski is much weaker after the repair.

8. Prevents core shots from becoming worse -

If core shots are not fixed it can cause the core to become water logged making the base material around the core shot sperate from the ski.

9. Ski across traverses quicker and easier -

A hot wax and smooth bases will help you get across a traverse quickly and make uphill travel easier when you're headed to your secret stash on a powder day.

10. To ski really fast -

                                                               Wicked fast.
